07/2026 - It's been over a week since I got back from Crete, and I'm still riding the energy of that island. The sun, the water, the food - Greece just has this magical energy to it. The land feels serene and peaceful yet mysterious, with a lot of depth that holds all of her ancient secrets and wisdom. The moment I arrived, I felt my truth bumps giving me confirmation that my body, mind, and spirit needed this place - nourishment for my soul in more ways than one. I was so captivated by the turquoise, jewel-colored sea and how I had missed swimming in such lovely water. I needed the freedom that the water offered, salt and all.

This trip reminded me how important life balance truly is - taking the time to eat a wholesome meal without guilt or judgment, the sanctity of sacred sisterhood, and the time for a daily fulfilling spiritual practice. Of course, we need to make a living and earn an income for ourselves, but genuinely slowing down to watch the sunrise, the sunset, sitting and reading beneath an olive tree, and connecting with the earth prompted me to deepen my connection with myself in a meaningful way. It's easy to become too busy and lost in mundane living, but taking those slow breaths in such a scenic land overwhelmed me with gratitude.

Once home, I felt so grateful and blessed for the excursion, but I definitely felt the density of the city and working life. Feeling the joy of the present moment makes life so much more beautiful as I capture more lovely memories, but it also brings me back to relishing the mundane as well.

Being in the present moment encouraged me to stop and check in with my body often throughout the day - how am I feeling? Do I need to stop and take some deep breaths? Am I listening to what my body needs right now? Could I use more rest, or take that 15-minute power nap? Why is this endless looping thought haunting me right now?

So I leave you with this - you don't have to cross an ocean to come home to yourself. Sometimes it's as simple as pausing right where you are and asking: how am I, really? The stillness I found in Crete is available anywhere - in your kitchen before the day starts, on a walk around the block, in the quiet after everyone else has gone to sleep. It's less about the place and more about the permission you give yourself to slow down and listen. So wherever you are right now, take a breath. Ask the question. See what answers you.
